The green and purple text on the shirt represents the anxious thoughts someone suffering from anxiety can experience in their daily lives. In the middle of the shirt is an image of Pinocchio and the words around them reading, "Anxiety lies worse than Pinocchio."

I created this design in 2021 around the time when mental health issues were public topic. I was glad the public's understanding of mental illness was shifting, and I felt comfortable enough to share my experiences. The concept for the design came from expressing my personal findings about anxiety, and that on many occasions it lies. These fearful thoughts onset by anxiety, can repeat in one's mind and cause one to panic. The intense feelings cloud judgement and convince one that those fearful thoughts will come true. I was a person that was held back due to anxious thoughts. Until one day I questioned if anxiety was telling me the truth or not. I found that anxiety lies, and many of the things I feared happening, would most likely not happen. Once one can recognize anxiety controls us using irrational fears, I believe one can start to change the way they live with anxiety.
